Dr Raja Easa Al Gurg

Your Excellency

Dr Raja Easa Al Gurg, Managing Director of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group LLC (ESAG), is a well known businesswoman in the region. She has achieved laurels for her stellar leadership of the group under the tutelage of her father, the Chairman, H.E. Easa Saleh Al Gurg, KCVO, CBE. Her counsel and valuable insights have significantly contributed to the growth and expansion of ESAG.

A leading business woman in her own right, Mrs Al Gurg has carved a unique niche for herself in the region due to her support and encouragement of Arab women entrepreneurs. She is the President of Dubai Business Women Council, Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Dubai Healthcare City Authority, Board member of the Dubai Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), Dubai Women’s Association. Mrs Al Gurg is the first Emirati woman on the board of HSBC Bank Middle East Limited and is also on the advisory board of Coutts Bank, the wealth division of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. She is the Head of the Auditing Committee at the Federal Customs Authority and a Board member. She is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University. She was conferred the Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) honour by Amity University, India. Mrs. Raja Al Gurg is also the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Al Jalila Foundation, a non-profit organisation whose mandate is to promote the UAE as a centre of excellence for medical research and education. She holds memberships at the Dubai Economic Council, Arab International Women’s Forum, National Advisory Council and College of Business Sciences.

Mrs Al Gurg was ranked first in the Forbes Middle East’s ranking of ‘The 200 Most Powerful Arab Women in Family Business’ for 2014 and was also on the Forbes Middle East list of ‘The Most Influential Arab Women in Family Business’ in 2013. She is ranked fifth in the list of the‘100 Most Powerful Arab Women 2012,’ compiled by CEO Middle East; was ranked among the top 100 – 58th place in the list of the world’s most influential Arabs in the Arabian Business 2012 Power 500 listing. Forbes International also listed her as the 4th most powerful Arab businesswoman in 2006. She has earned several other plaudits and awards in recent years. These include the Stevie Award for Women in Business in 2011 and the ‘World of Difference Award’ from the International Alliance for Women (TIAW) in 2009. Mrs Al Gurg was also selected as the figure of the month, ‘The Mother of Pearl amongst Businesswomen,’ by the Al Waref Institute for Humanitarian Studies in Washington in 2010.

Mrs Al Gurg represents the U.A.E. at many international conferences and round-tables as a key-note speaker and is also part of the Government of Dubai’s official delegation for various trade and commerce meetings. She also hosted the first MENA Businesswomen’s Network Forum, in her capacity as the President of the Dubai Business Women Council.

Besides providing valuable counsel to various business groups and international trade alliances, Mrs Al Gurg spends considerable time in several philanthropic, social and charitable activities, notably with the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Charity Foundation and the Al Jalila Foundation, a UAE organisation with global aspirations dedicated to making lasting and significant contributions in healthcare to transform lives.

Abeer Abu Ghaith

Abeer Abu Ghaith has had a variety of life experiences in the few years following her graduation from Palestine Polytechnic University in Hebron. She acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems Engineering. Her experiences include unemployment, volunteering, employment, participation in internships and development programs and starting her own company.

Abeer saw an opportunity for positive change and founded her company, StayLinked, in 2013, a start-up company acts as Talent Broker between skilled Palestinian freelancers and business with project needs that can be delivered leveraging Remote Service Resourcing. “In the course of my work, I discovered that the women and youth are the key to political and economic development in Palestine and the region. Giving them the tools they need to succeed, and the opportunities to discover their talents and potential are all what’s need and they’ll take it from there.”

Anu Acharya

CEO @mapmygenome.in, YGL- WEF, IIT KGP

Anu is the CEO at "mapmygenome.in", a molecular diagnostics company for people who are proactive about their health. Mapmygenome's products include prognostics and diagnostics tests. The prognostics range of products includes Genomepatri, Oncomap, Brainmap and Cardiomap. The diagnostics products include the Sma-RT kit series, single gene conditions, Cardiac and Oncology panels.

Anu is the Founder and was the CEO of Ocimum Biosolutions from 2000 to 2013. Ocimum combines its Bioinformatics products, reference databases, data generation and data analytics on "big data" using a LIMS backbone through its proprietary platform called RaaS.

She was named a "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum(WEF) for its class of 2011 and serves on the WEF's Global Agenda Council as a member of the Personalized and Precision Medicine.

Anna MM Vetticad

Journalist and Writer

Anna MM Vetticad is a prominent Indian journalist and writer. She is the author of the critically acclaimed book The Adventures of an Intrepid Film Critic, an authoritative overview of Indian society as seen through the prism of the Mumbai-based Hindi film industry – known to the world as Bollywood – and presented through an account of a year in which she watched every single Bollywood film released in India’s National Capital Region. Among other matters, the book deals with how discrimination against women, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) persons, persons with disabilities and other marginalised sections of Indian society is reflected in the functioning of Bollywood and in its films.

Through 20 years as a journalist, Anna has worked with India’s No. 1 newsmagazine India Today, the leading national newspaper The Indian Express and Headlines Today, the English television channel from the India Today Group. She has also been a Consulting Editor with The New Indian Express.

Anna is an alumnus of Convent of Jesus and Mary School, New Delhi, and a commerce graduate from Delhi University’s Jesus and Mary College where she was the Students’ Union President. She is a post-graduate in journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi, where she won The Hindustan Times Award for academic excellence. A rank holder from the batch of 1993-94, she is now a visiting lecturer at the institute.

Gender sensitivity has been an intrinsic part of her writings on cinema. Her annual lecture series at IIMC includes “gender sensitivity in news coverage” as a subject.

Bela Harsh Raval

Bela’s belief in the popular saying “The early bird gets the worm”, motivated and encouraged her to create something while still in school. The challenges faced by students in sharing and acquiring notes and expert guidance sitting at home paved the way for NoteBuddies. The journey looked easy, but she never thought that it would take her 12 months from concept to product. As a student and a girl Bela experienced many challenges, hurdles and constraints, all of which contributed immensely towards her growth as an individual and a girl entrepreneur. Bela feels she is now better equipped to face the world in university and work. She also wants to add a special note of thanks to Meera Kaul Foundation for giving her the opportunity to be a part of the first ever WIT event held in Dubai in 2014.

Claudia Galvan

President at Society of Women Engineers, Silicon Valley

Claudia’s journey started in Mexico City where she obtained her Computer Science degree and worked as a software developer to support her studies and graduated first of her class. Shortly after her graduation, she moved to Vancouver, Canada where she developed educational software for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools around the world.

After almost 20 years of experience in launching software products worldwide, Claudia is considered a world-wide expert in the technology field. She was responsible for building international teams from the ground-up and the technology used in platforms in Fortune 500 Companies.

Claudia is a serial-volunteer working on causes supporting Women and Latinos for the last 20 years. After holding several positions in SWE Santa Clara Valley, she became President of this section, the largest in Region A. In addition, as a board member at Notre Dame High School she is an advisor to STEM initiatives. She is also a volunteer at the TechWomen program a US Department of State initiative.

Dareen Alhiyari

Software Engineer at Dubizzle.com

Dareen is a Software Engineer with a multi-faceted technical experience and skills. She has been active in supporting women in technology in different ways; launched and mentored TechNovation Challenge program in Jordan, been invited and honored as one of the inaugural class members of TechWomen in Silicon Valley by Dr. Hillary Clinton, and a member in Arab Women in Computing study. She also spoke and mentored in different events such as Microsoft’s OpenDoor and WowzApp hackathon. Dareen has been a software engineer since 2002 and started professionally in 2006, with an experience that spans over the Middle East region including UAE, Jordan, Tunisia, Libya and Turkey, currently based in Dubai and working at MENA's largest classifieds platform dubizzle.com

Dr. Hind Zantout, MBCS

Director of Postgraduate Studies, Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus

Dr. Zantout teaches undergraduate and postgraduate degree program courses in the School of Mathematical & Computer Sciences. She is a member of BCS The Chartered Institute for IT, active in the Middle East Section.

Her academic interests include business information systems, e-government, Internet governance and user interaction, as well as the history of mathematical tables and the level of errors included in these tables. She is a strong believer in life-long learning, and keen on encouraging female students to pursue computing related fields of study.

Recently she was a panel member on the Innovative Stem Debate held in Dubai by the Higher Education Academy in which questions on drivers for change and growth in STEM higher education, skills required of STEM graduates and the role of online learning were discussed. She also organized Ada Lovelace Day at Heriot-Watt, an event that is celebrated worldwide to highlight achievements of women in Science and Technology.

She has a multi-cultural background, speaking fluent English, Arabic, German and conversational French, and enjoys the diversity of the Heriot-Watt faculty and student body.

Jos Anna Dirkx

Brand & Communications at IBM

Jos Dirkx is an award-winning media and communications professional, a two-time TedX speaker, and a Women Deliver Young Leader. She founded an award-winning NGO, Girls & Football SA, and launched a mobile health app, mGirls, which delivers free, daily health care information to 50,000 girls in South Africa via text. mGirls runs on the mXit platforms, which is available through multiple app stores, and allows users to interact with the content. Through innovative use of technology, mGirls is able to reach girls who otherwise would have limited access to accurate health information.

As Brand Professional for IBM, Jos focuses on strengthening the IBM brand through effective and innovative communications. She is the chairperson of the IBM BlueWins, which increases professional opportunities for women in the UAE. Her upbringing in 12 countries and travel through 85 different countries fuels her passion for cross-cultural communications.

Jessica Obeid

Founder MentorSHE

Jessica is an Energy Engineer at CEDRO Project - United Nations Development Program - specializing in the implementation of renewable energy and national assessments of different renewable resources.

She is the Founder and Program Manager of MentorSHE, a mentorship program for women in decision-making, with existing Lebanese politicians serving as mentors. She also founded Solar Benches, an initiative enabling lighting and charging of mobile phones,tablets through solar energy.

Jessica holds a Masters’ degree in Diplomacy and Strategic Negotiations and serves as a start-up and board member of several NGOs.

She has been awarded scholarships for various programs such as the US State Department’s TechWomen Emerging Leaders and Young Energy Leaders from MENA countries, and has received a Community Ambassador Award. Jessica was featured in the International Business Times as one of the 10 Emerging Tech Women in the Middle East.

Maaria Mozaffar

Moza Suwaidan

Moza Suwaidan is a well-rounded IT professional with more than 12 years of experience in the Information Technology field. She is currently working as Director, Information Technology in Dubai Culture & Art Authority (Dubai Government Entity) since February 2014. Before that, she had been working in Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) for 11 years.

Moza comes from a technical background with a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Total Quality Management. Throughout her 12 years of experience in the IT field, she worked in a variety of disciplines including strategic planning, project management, business development and Business Intelligence. Her visionary leadership style enabled her to contribute tremendously to the success of the organizations.

Moza is also an active contributor to the IT fields through memberships in Project Management Institutes (PMI) and Dubai Quality Group (DGP). She has been a speaker in SAP conferences sharing her expertise. She has been a finalist in Women in Technology award – best all round technology executive categories in 2014 as well as a finalist in ICT Achievement Award – Future CIO award 2014.

Moza is also shouldering personal responsibility as a proud mother of 5 children.

Maryam Althani

Maryam Althani is an Emirati National and a Qualified Engineer and holds BS in Electrical Engineering from UAE University (1998) and has obtained an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) from Zayed University (2006).

Maryam is currently serving as Senior Manager for corporate Partnership Department at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), a leading organization in Dubai and the main supply for electricity and Water to Dubai residents. Maryam has also served reputed organizations in executive positions in Dubai, UAE namely: - UAE University - Dubai Aluminium Company Ltd ( DUBAL ) - Schneider Electric ( SE ) - Dubai International Financial Center ( DIFC ) - Dubai Cable Company (DUCAB)

Maryam is an eminent professional on various Boards local and international such as Emirates Science Club, Entrepreneurs Forum (Dubai), International Mensa and especially IEEE. In IEEE, she is the section chair of UAE section (2012-13). She formed the IEEE Women in Engineering Group (WIE) in UAE in 2003 and has coordinated the WIE in Region 8 (Europe, Africa and Middle East) during 2007-08 and the group achieved the best growth award across the globe. She was serving the WIE liaison for PES in 2010,2011 and 2012.

Maryam has served as a Board Member of Dubai Quality Group, Dubai, and UAE during the years 2009-2010 and has been elevated to the position of Secretary General to Board of Directors for the years 2011-12. Dubai quality Group is a leading organization involved in spreading the message of Quality and Excellence for Dubai Business community. Maryam has represented Dubai Quality Group at meetings at the American Society of Quality (ASQ), USA in 2011and main speaker at ASQ conference in Celaya & Leon, Mexico in 2011and in Leon, Mexico in 2013.

Maryam is an expert skeet shooter as a hobby and is an avid global traveller and is active in social media – facebook with a number of followers to her professional activities.

M & M Innovators is based in Pakistan but has international partners and projects.

Maryam is also a lecturer at a local University in Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University and she is working on her PhD in Computer Science at University of Salford.

Maryam is actively involved in many entrepreneurship and tech communities, working with and inspiring fellow colleagues and the younger generation.

Dr Nashwa Al Ruwaini

Dr. Nashwa Al Ruwaini has been described as “an energy source, a fountain of ideas & an iron woman. Nashwa Al Ruwaini has been known to cause a stir wherever & with whatever she is involved”.

Currently CEO & Board Member of Pyramedia Productions, CEO of Delma Medical Centre & SPA, Member of the Emmys, CEO of the Nashwa Charity Foundation & Co-Founder & Board Member of the ADFF.

Doctor Nashwa Al Ruwaini has been selected among the 100 Most Powerful Arab Women in 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 - CEO Middle East Magazine & Laha magazine and Most 500 Powerful Arab People of 2012, 2013 & 2014 - Arabian Business. Nermin Ahmed

Professor/Lecturer/Teacher at German University in Cairo

Dr. Nermin Salah Ahmed is a Pharmacy lecturer, an Egyptian TechWomen 2013 Emerging leader, an anticipated agent of change in her country and a role model for young girls who seek STEM careers.

She desires to bridge the gap between academia and entrepreneurship with special focus on Egyptian students enrolled in scientific disciplines, the stream education and courses rarely challenge those student creativity or entrepreneurial spirit.

Dr. Nermin was the executive manager of Teenpreneurs event in August 2014, where teenagers were encouraged to challenge their challenges and create their own ideas, pitch their projects in a 3 days vivid event.

She worked with a group of students to build their own start up and succeeded in being awarded an Egyptian Young entrepreneurial competition, where they secured seed funding from a prominent mobile operator in Egypt. Now she is trying to help new cohort of students starting their own business in the field of herbal medicine, they plan to launch centers for herbal products all over Egypt.

Dr. Nermin is a group leader to a research group working on the design and synthesis of novel pharmaceutical moieties with potential use in Breast cancer treatment, her projects are funded by the Egyptian science and technology development fund. She plans to encourage more women to join her research team that now comprises 6 female students.

Dr. Nermin hopes to meet more Women in STEM and seek possible collaboration, after all who is helping us if we do not help each other.

Pragnya Wakhlu

Musician, Composer and Founder of Mousia India

Pragnya Wakhlu is a professional musician, composer and the founder of Mousai India. She graduated from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (Management in Entrepreneurship); Wakhlu’s passion for working with music and people led her to quit her career as a software professional at Infosys Technologies, USA, and delve into research on the healing powers of music and movement. Working alongside a dance therapist in Pune, Wakhlu founded Mousai, in 2009. Mousai aims at creating workshops for people to help them to be more positive, liberated, joyous & creative.

The approach that Mousai incorporates in workshops utilizes both the creative and kinesthetic side of the brain, using music and movement as tools for attitudinal transformation. Since 2009, Pragnya and her company had facilitated numerous workshops for AID's patients at Wake Up Pune and worked with women, children, schools, as well as corporations and businesses. Pragnya's work has been featured in a book “Inspiring Women to start Innovative Enterprises” released by IIM-Bangalore.

Pragnya is one of the few independent woman musicians and guitarists in the Indian music circuit. In 2012, Pragnya released her solo album “Journey to the Sun” and was the 3rd place for “Best Female Vocalist” at the Southeast Asia Music Awards.

Giving back to society has always been something close to Pragnya’s heart. You will often find her rallying up people in a human chain to save the hills, organizing funds for disaster victims, or volunteering her time at an NGO.

Rema Subramania

Founder and Partner of Ankur Capital

Rema Subramanian, founder partner of Ankur Capital, has three decades of experience in CXO levels in building and scaling operations across various sectors like financial services, education, IT and manufacturing in India.

Ankur Capital is not only India’s first fund started by women, but is also India’s first angel fund. It is focused on the huge opportunity with the bottom of the pyramid. Ankur invests in startups in agriculture, health and education. With her key strength is strategic thinking with hands on implementation, Ankur has invested in four companies in the last year and half.

Rumbidzayi Mlambo

Co-founder and Director of TechWomen Zimbabwe

Rumbidzayi Mlambo is an Intellectual Property Expertand Scientist passionate about Science,Technology,Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)and its role in development. She has received the TechWomen Award for demonstrating potential as an Emerging Leader in the Area of Stem, she was also the runner up in the ICT achievers award in the category of ICT Business Woman of the Year.

She has worked for Government in the Ministry of Science and Technology Development as a Provincial Science and Technology Officer, The Research Council of Zimbabwe and the University of Zimbabwe and Intellectual Property Consultant at IPB Solutions.

She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Masters degree in Intellectual Property from Africa University currently studying for a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) Degree with the University of London.

She is the Co-founder and Chairperson of Techwomen Zimbabwe. Rumbidzayi is now a successful Social entrepreneur working with Government, development Agencies and Private sector in Zimbabwe.

Satya Vadlamani

Satya Vadlamani, a Chief Promoter also an Electrical and Electronics Engineer by education and carries more than 22 years of experience of marketing pharmaceutical products in global markets.

Satya started her career in Marketing at Armour Chemicals Ltd. in the year 1992 and later worked at Biochem Synergy Ltd. and there was no looking back. She worked in various capacities and was the youngest women GM for Ajanta Pharma Ltd. International Marketing.

In 1997, Satya started her own pharma export company, purely as an indenting operation. The company was initiated under the name of Murlikrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. In 2003, as business opportunities increased, Satya switched over her operations to focus on trading. In 2004, Satya started her own venture in manufacturing semi-finished formulations under the name of Murlikrishna pharma Pvt. Ltd

Satya has received accolades from various sections and below are some small examples for it.

1. Part of the book “Follow Every Rainbow” which is about the success and inspiring stories of 25 female entrepreneurs and was covered under the chapter or title “Acid Test” from the famous author Rashmi Bansal.

2. In the recent times, I have been the guest speaker in several events and some renowned ones include “Sakaal Media Group (Women Entrepreneurship)”, “Lokmat Women Summit (A debate held in one of the leading media groups CNN-IBN)”, “FICCI FLO (Women wing of Federation of Indian chambers of commerce and Industry)”, “Transnational Cooperation in Drug Development and Clinical Research (Held in Hamburg, Germany)”.

Sharifa Hady

Director Enterprise Group Distribution - Middle East , Mediteranean and Africa at Hewlett-Packard

Sherifa A. Hady is the EG Distribution Director for the MEMA region from February 2013. Prior to that, she was the Channel Manager for the printing group of HP English Africa. Throughout her 13 years at HP she held many roles, specifically in sales and marketing in the Middle East region. She was in charge of channel programs, channel marketing and communications.

Sherifa spent four years at Connexions Marketing Agency in Dubai, handling both HP’s and Microsoft’s Middle Eastern accounts. This prepared her for her roles to come.

Before moving to Dubai, Sherifa was the Account Manager for the Retail Division at ICL Egypt. She was responsible for sales of retail solutions within the IT sector.

Sherifa was awarded IT Woman of the Year in March 2006, and the IT Marketing Manager of the Year by ITP in 2005, as well as being included in the HP Achiever’s Club.

Sherifa has lived in Dubai for 18 years where her career has taken her to high and deserved levels within the IT industry. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and Communications from Ain Shams University and is married with two children.

Shukla Datta

Shukla Datta is an educator, coach, and a motivational speaker with over twenty years of experience. She is an accomplished author of three books. H er latest book : “Live Life Like Never Before” is a motivational book on purposeful living. She earned her Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from Sheffield University, U.K and taught Economics, Business Studies, life skills and Job readiness in different colleges in Canada and in the Middle East.

She is a member of Speaker’s Bureau, Toronto. She regularly conducts seminars and workshops in all aspects of self-development. She speaks for communities, corporate and, conventions, about leadership and motivation. Shukla is popular for her interactive and humorous style of presentation in her workshops and keynote speeches.

Shukla possesses a global vision and gained international experiences through her extensive travelling from China to Canada, Australia to Austria and countries in between, meeting people and learning from diverse culture.

Shukla loves inspiring and making a difference in the lives of people. She is passionate about people recognizing their inner potential and bringing this into their lives.

Dr. Shereen Salah Ahmed

Shereen Salah Ahmed is a physician from Egypt with a Master’s degree of Clinical Pathology, and recent recipient of “Fekrety” Award for creating and implementing new ideas towards education reform. She is currently enrolled in MBA program, a wife, and a mother of three.

After exploring opportunities in China, Shereen obtained a certificate for entrepreneurship from the American University in Cairo, as a part of 10000 Women Initiative sponsored by Goldman Sachs. Since 2010, Shereen has been the sole agent of a British brand of personal care products for women and has established a network of clients, distributors and coworkers.

In 2013, Shereen became a Google certified partner. Since then, Shereen started her business, being a mentor and consultant in the field of online marketing.

Shereen believes that online media is a very powerful tool but may be dangerous if used without careful dedication.

Sima Najjar

CEO & Founder Ekeif.com

Sima Najjar is CEO of Ekeif.com which she founded in 2012, “keif” means "How" in Arabic, they do short "how to" videos targeting women in Arabic. With 500 videos so far they were able to organically attract more than 35 Million video views till September 2014 and more than 111K subscribers. Sima has been responsible for managing the staff, marketing, sales, financials, and strategy of her company.

Sima is a serial entrepreneur; she founded her first company SiMS Events & Model Management in 2007 and co-founded Pinkdust Boutique in 2010 featuring and empowering Arab designers only in Jordan. Through her experiences in launching several companies, Sima has developed an expertise in business management.

In 2013, Sima won Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards for the MENA region. She received her bachelor’s from Al Ahliya University with a Graphic Design. Sima speaks Arabic and English.

In 2014, Sima was selected as one of the leading women in MENA to participate in Vital Voices 2014 program and in October became a Vital Voices fellow, their mission is to identify, invest in and bring visibility to extraordinary women around the world by unleashing their leadership potential to transform lives and accelerate peace and prosperity in their communities.

Other than the business aspect, Sima also helped in raising money and creating awareness in certain social causes. In 2014, Sima was part of the team to climb Kilimanjaro Mountain to help raise funds for King Hussien Cancer Center new expansion project; they successfully raised 1.6 Million USD and raised awareness.

Swapna Subramani

Senior Research Analyst, Systems and Infrastructure Solutions

Swapna Subramani currently leads the Enterprise hardware program within the Systems and Infrastructure Solutions team with coverage of technologies including servers, storage, converged infrastructure and virtualization, handling all standard and custom research for these technologies.

Swapna worked for IDC from 2008 until mid-2010 within the PCs and Systems group, in which she handled IDC's PC tracker across key countries in the Middle East. She rejoined IDC in March 2013 as part of the enterprise team as senior analyst for the Middle East and Africa region.

During her time away from IDC, Swapna worked at 451 Research, in San Francisco, as a senior analyst responsible for market sizing and custom projects related to cloud computing and virtualization technologies. She was also actively engaged in business development and marketing activities to promote quantitative services within this boutique research and consultancy firm.

Swapna is currently pursuing a part-time PhD in technology management from IIT Bombay. She also holds an MBA degree, having majored in marketing, and graduated as an electrical engineer from the University of Alberta, Canada.

Sirine Fadoul

Sirine works with technology entrepreneurs from the MENA region, preparing them for their investment rounds and mentoring them throughout the incubation program.
She is a founding member of Girls in Tech Dubai, a non-profit organization that aims to empower girls and women in the technology and STEM fields.

Sirine holds a Master in Marketing from University of Paris XII, a Graduate degree from Harvard University - Human Resource & Performance Management and she is currently finishing a Stanford University program on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Trish Tierney

Trish believes deeply in the power of connecting women around the world, linking resources, brainpower and technology to create more sustainable, socially just and productive communities.

Over the past 20 years, Trish has focused on social entrepreneurship, leadership development, women's empowerment and technology in Africa, India, Latin America and the Middle East. She excels at conceptualizing programs and building effective, diverse partnerships to launch and support those programs. Trish has designed and scaled programs with multinational organizations (World Bank, UNDP, USAID), US State Department, and a range of companies, particularly tech companies in Silicon Valley and their global offices. She has considerable expertise in grant writing, fundraising and building and leading teams.

Trish is Co-founder of WAKE: Women’s Alliance for Knowledge Exchange. WAKE’s mission is to inspire, connect and mobilize allies to work together for the social and economic empowerment and equality of women and girls globally. WAKE connects, strengthens and supports local women’s organizations to scale their programs and expand their impact and reach to address women's rights issues including gender-based violence, environmental issues, health, political participation and access to education and economic empowerment.

Before launching WAKE, Trish was Executive Director of the Institute of International Education (IIE) where she oversaw the office’s strategy, operations, business development and program teams and founded IIE’s Center for Women’s Leadership Initiatives, establishing innovative programs such as WeTech, launched through the Clinton Global Initiative, TechWomen and Women’s Enterprise for Sustainability. Prior to IIE, Trish worked at Cisco Systems and the World Bank.

Victor holds a Master’s Degree in Information Technology and News Writing and Journalism (London). He has attended numerous trainings, workshops and seminars related to public relations, corporate communications and marketing.

Victor Currently holds the position of Chief Executive and Principal Consultant with Absolute Communications. He is also a Member of the Board of Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) and Business Marketing Associations (BMA).
