Anu is the CEO at "mapmygenome.in", a molecular diagnostics company for people who are proactive about their health. Mapmygenome's products include prognostics and diagnostics tests. The prognostics range of products includes Genomepatri, Oncomap, Brainmap and Cardiomap. The diagnostics products include the Sma-RT kit series, single gene conditions, Cardiac and Oncology panels.

Anu is the Founder and was the CEO of Ocimum Biosolutions from 2000 to 2013. Ocimum combines its Bioinformatics products, reference databases, data generation and data analytics on "big data" using a LIMS backbone through its proprietary platform called RaaS.

She was named a "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum(WEF) for its class of 2011 and serves on the WEF's Global Agenda Council as a member of the Personalized and Precision Medicine.

Arunabh das Sharma

Arunabh Das Sharma is a board level business leader. He has worked in Media, Consumer Packaged Goods and Consumer Durables space with experience in technology start ups. Arunabh is a great blend of working and living in both mature and emerging market environments. He has worked in India, China and the US. He has intimate working knowledge of the entire Asia Pacific market including Australia.

He has handled businesses of various sizes and has been involved in a range of activities including M&A, JV formations and new market entry. Have significant experience in turnarounds and change management. Currently, he handles over a $1B of direct revenue responsibility and a team of over 2000 people.

Ashish Panjabi

COO, Jacky’s Group of Companies

Holding a Bachelor in Science with specialization in Finance, Investments and Economics from Babson College, Ashish Panjabi, is the Chief Operating Officer for UAE’s Jacky’s Group of Companies, and is responsible for developing Jacky’s as an ‘organized retailer’ by implementing various changes in store design, marketing, product mix, etc since 2004. Under his leadership, Jacky’s has emerged as the top retailer, in terms of revenues, at GITEX Shopper’s.

In December 2013, he started Jacky’s Retail LLC, which operates Samsung Brand shops across the UAE. The company won various accolades from Superbrands, Channel ME Awards, Reseller ME Awards, Middle East Retail Awards, Tbreak Awards along recognitions from malls such as Deira City Centre, Mall of The Emirates, Sharjah City Centre, and Ajman City Centre.

Ashish spearheads Jacky’s Business Solutions, providing end-to-end solutions for public and private organizations in the region bringing to the Middle East 3D printers from Stratasys, Concept Laser and Makerbot.

In December 2011, Ashish was chosen to be among the top 25 super achievers in various sectors for the prestigious ‘Young Asian Achievers’ in the UAE. In 2012, he was awarded the “Retail Leadership Award” from the Asian Retail Leadership Awards.

Claudia Galvan

President at Society of Women Engineers, Silicon Valley

Claudia Galván is a Technical Advisor to Startups in Silicon Valley, where she provides technical and domain expertise in market research; developing a scalable architecture; and compelling culturally-relevant product features to meet local market requirements.

With almost 20 years of experience in launching software products worldwide, Claudia is considered a world-wide expert in this field. She was responsible for building international teams from the ground-up and the technology used in platforms in Fortune 500 Companies.

Most recently, Claudia led the overall product internationalization effort of Hightail Web Services. At Microsoft, she was the Head of the International Team in Silicon Valley, overseeing international versions of Microsoft Online Services including Hotmail, Bing and MSN in 48 languages and 160+ markets; reaching people around the world. During her time at Microsoft Silicon Valley, she was chair of Women at Microsoft and Latinos at Microsoft where she built community and mentored emerging leaders. This resulted on being the recipient of the Global Product Development Leadership award and the Women Empowerment award.

At Adobe Systems, she held senior engineering management roles, devising product globalization strategy and developing Globalization and Electronic Software Delivery technologies used in all Adobe products. Her patent US 8,438,007 B1 Software user interface human language translation was one of the early examples of end-to-end software localization.

At Oracle, she was the National Language Support manager for the Tools Division. She incorporated early versions of Unicode into the Oracle Tools products for the implementation of the EURO symbol as a request of the European Union.

Claudia’s journey started in Mexico City where she obtained her Computer Science degree and worked as a software developer to support her studies and graduated first of her class. Shortly after her graduation, she moved to Vancouver, Canada where she developed educational software for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools around the world.

After the company was acquired by McGraw-Hill, she was relocated to Monterey, CA where she grew from Lead to senior management engineering positions responsible for end-to-end development of educational software products. In Monterey, she completed an MSc in Program and Project Management. She is currently a third year Doctoral Student at Drexel University in Sacramento, CA researching strategies on increasing the pipeline of women in engineering.

Claudia is a serial-volunteer working on causes supporting Women and Latinos for the last 20 years. After holding several positions in SWE Santa Clara Valley, she became President of this section, the largest in Region A. In addition, as a board member at Notre Dame High School she is an advisor to STEM initiatives. She is also a volunteer at the TechWomen program a US Department of State initiative.

She has published articles, presented at international conferences around the world and has been portrayed in national and local media. Claudia is an avid hiker, reader and overall adrenaline-junkie. She loves spending time with family and friends.

Heather Ramsey

Co-Founder, WAKE: Women’s Alliance for Knowledge Exchange

Heather has dedicated her career to developing and scaling programs to support the advancement and security of women and girls globally. Over the last 15 years, Heather has designed, launched and led several large multi-country initiatives in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia focused on women’s empowerment, technology, social entrepreneurship and NGO capacity building, including TechWomen, Women in Technology MENA, E-Mediat and Women’s Enterprise for Sustainability. Heather’s specialty is building public-private partnerships to provide technical assistance to civil society organizations. Heather earned a Master’s degree from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in International Policy with a focus on Gender in International Development.

Since leaving her position at the Institute of International Education where she was Senior Director of TechWomen and Strategic Partnerships for the Center for Women’s Leadership Initiatives, Heather has co-founded WAKE: Women’s Alliance for Knowledge Exchange. WAKE’s mission is to inspire, connect and mobilize allies to work together for the social and economic empowerment and equality of women and girls globally. WAKE connects, strengthens and supports local women’s organizations to scale their programs and expand their impact and reach to address women's rights issues including gender-based violence, environmental issues, health, political participation and access to education and economic empowerment.


Vice President, Asia Pacific and Latin America at NativeX

Having earned his Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Columbia University in New York City, Rick Liu has over 20 years experience in the mobile, social, gaming and digital marketing environment. With these credentials he has also attended the Executive Program at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and the Merger and Acquisitions Executive Program at the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania. This has advanced him to become a founding team member of Gameview Studios, a leading publisher of free-to-play games for mobile platforms such as iOs and Android applications. Tap Fish a franchise most known and acquired in 2010 by DeNA of Japan has reached over 100 million consumers under Liu’s contributions. With this franchise, Japan’s DeNA has come to be one of the world’s most successful mobile internet company when it comes to community and gaming products.

Due to Liu’s fluency in four languages and cultures of Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese Mandarin, and English his international assignments have given him responsibility to work with companies such as Siemens Mobile and Networking business, Motorola’s Satellite Communications business and Mobile Broadband business and Intel’s early business development in regions of Eastern and Western Europe, North and Latin America and Asia.

In the summer of 2013, Rick joined forces with the Weber family who founded NativeX, a leading ad technology for mobile games as an Executive Board Member VP for Asia and Latin America, while also an Angel Investor in boutique PhD leagues searching for mobile game app developers with published titles for GooglePlay or Apple App store.

Renuka Singh

Sarah Soule

Professor at Stanford Graduate School of Business

Sarah A. Soule's research examines state and organizational-level policy change and diffusion, and the role social movements have on these processes. She has recently published papers on how protest impacts multi-national firm-level decisions regarding divestment in Burma, and on how advocacy organizations learn new strategies and tactics from those with which they collaborate. She is currently working on a study of how protest affects the outcomes of shareholder resolutions, and another study of how advocacy organizations innovate.

She has published a book with Cambridge University Press, entitled Contention and Corporate Social Responsibility. Recent published work has appeared in the American Journal of Sociology, Administrative Science Quarterly, the American Sociological Review, Organizational Studies, the Strategic Management Journal, and the Annual Review of Sociology.

Angelika Plate

Bih Janet Shufor Fofang

Janet’s current position at Collège d’Enseignement Technique Industriel et Commerciale is Head of Electronics Department. She organises and oversees the activities of the electronics department, including lesson plans and laboratory work and plays a key role as a classroom teacher. Janet has established The Tassah Academy - a primary and secondary school with four hundred students and pupils and a staff of twenty.
She coordinates mentorship programs in schools to involve more girls in science and Technology and is founder of the Filles techniciennes club at cetic de Ngoa-Ekelle. Janet has participated in Techwomen 2013 mentorship programme with 77 other women from 16 countries across sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa and the Middle East. She has a Master of Education in Electrical engineering from University of Douala, Cameroon and is part of the active Techwomen Alumni.

Havovi Yazdabadi

Havovi Yazdabadi has been working in the IT industry for over 18 years having started her career at SAS Institute in Sydney, Australia managing the marketing group for Australia and New Zealand. She worked between the US and Australia for 6 years before relocating to London in 2000. In London, Havovi held various International and EMEA roles in marketing and brand management with the CRM leader Siebel including the Head of Marketing for the UK, Nordics and Benelux regions.

After the acquisition of Siebel by Oracle, Havovi joined Oracle as the lead for Business Intelligence Marketing for EMEA which was quickly followed up by further leading the marketing integration of Hyperion into Oracle. Havovi then proceeded to head up Marketing for Oracle's Database and Options business in EMEA. After moving to Abu Dhabi in 2010 she has been leading the marketing team for Oracle’s Systems Middle East and Africa business. Havovi was also part of the Macquarie University team that won the pan-Australian Inter University Harvard Case Study Competition in 1997 and has won the UK B2B Award in 2009 for Best Demand Generation Campaign for EPM TV.
